IMAGO-MOL Cluster, INNOVATE-EU and Rubik Hub are organising the MedTech Funding Lab on 21 October 2026 in Iași, a practical programme dedicated to European MedTech and HealthTech startups, with a focus on fundraising, investor readiness and pitching.

The programme will bring together 15 startups and provide founders with practical sessions and relevant expertise to help them develop their fundraising strategy and prepare for engagement with investors.

From fundraising strategy to a compelling investor pitch

The programme is structured around two main masterclasses.

The Fundraising Toolkit – Rubik Hub

Robert Cotună, Investment Manager at Rubik Hub, and Ionuț Amariei, Startup Program Manager – Rubik Garage Accelerator, will deliver a practical session covering key aspects of the fundraising process:

  • valuation methods and cap tables;
  • data room structure;
  • P&L forecasting;
  • investor profiling and targeting;
  • investor outreach strategies;
  • practical fundraising insights based on real-world experience.

Pitching like a PRO

The second masterclass will be delivered by Henk Joos, General Manager of Silver Arrow, and will focus on the strategic foundations investors look for when evaluating a startup.

The session will encourage founder

s to look beyond their technology and strengthen the strategic foundations of their company, addressing questions such as:

  • What is the product and its competitive advantage?
  • Who is the customer and who pays?
  • What is the go-to-market strategy?
  • Who are the competitors and key opinion leaders (KOLs)?
  • What is the company roadmap?
  • Does the team have the capacity to execute?

Participants will then have the opportunity to refine their own pitches and present them during a dedicated startup pitching session.

Opportunity for Romanian Pre-Seed startups

For Romanian startups at the Pre-Seed stage, participation in the MedTech Funding Lab also provides an opportunity to take part in the HealthTech Investors Summit 2026 regional preselection on 22 October 2026, held as part of the AI4-MED Conference.

Startups selected through this process will have the opportunity to compete for a place at the HealthTech Investors Summit 2026 in Bruges, Belgium, with support from INNOVATE-EU.

The MedTech Funding Lab is organised by IMAGO-MOL Cluster, INNOVATE-EU and Rubik Hub as a side event of the AI4-MED Conference, with the support of the European Union.

The initiative aims to strengthen connections between startups, investors and organisations across the European healthcare innovation ecosystem and support the development of MedTech and HealthTech solutions with the potential for implementation and scale.
