IMAGO-MOL Cluster is the coordinator of the Clusters4Health (Accelerating European Ukrainian Clusters Partnership in Health), funded through the COSME program, call: SMP-COSME-2024-CLUSTERUA.

The partners in the consortium are: Romanian Clusters Association (CLUSTERO), Biocat (Spain), Cluster of manufacturers of medical products – ProMedMan (Ukraine), Klaster Lifescience Krakow (Poland), CLUST ER Health (Italy), OSLO CANCER CLUSTER (Norway), RIVNE TACMED (Ukraine).

The goal of the Clusters4Health is to foster innovation, collaboration, excellence and growth within the medical clusters in Ukraine, by building a collaboration framework with other European healthtech clusters. The proposal aims to accelerate the development of innovative solutions, improve innovation processes and promote the adoption of technologies by providing knowledge and resources, by generating networking opportunities and access to investment and partners, providing guidance to startups, SMEs, healthcare providers and other stakeholders within the health ecosystem.

The Specific Objectives of the Clusters4Health project:

  • Enhancing the resilience and competitiveness of the Ukrainian healthcare sector by mapping the disrupted value chains and the pain points of consumers (clusters members, SMEs), needs for medical services in the Rivne and Kyiv regions, conducting benchmarking assessments, and supporting the development or review of medical cluster strategies, fostering collaboration with European partners for sustainable growth and excellence, by 2027
  • Strengthening the capacity and support services of the Ukrainian medical clusters by establishing Europe-Ukraine Clusters Accelerator Lab as a collaborative framework and organising training & mentoring sessions and implementing mobility schemes, thereby fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and partnership building within the Ukrainian cluster ecosystem, by 2027
  • Connecting and integrating members of Ukrainian health innovation ecosystems with the European collaboration network of clusters, fostering networking and collaboration between European and Ukrainian stakeholders, focusing on facilitating the Ukrainian startups growth and access to investments through a comprehensive program of acceleration, matchmaking and pitching events, thereby enhancing an open European Ukrainian innovation healthcare ecosystem, by 2027
  • Supporting the collaborative efforts between the EU and Norway to rebuild Ukraine by designing a comprehensive Joint Europe-Ukraine Roadmap for a Resilient and Smart Health Ecosystem, facilitating the generation of collaborative projects through Ideathons workshops, and establishing a portfolio of joint projects, by 2027
  • Ultimately driving the alignment of Ukrainian clusters and their members and stakeholders towards state-of-the art development and technology generation and adoption to rebuild UA’s innovation industrial ecosystems and reduce the divide across Europe, by 2027

Among the outstanding outcomes expected from this partnership, the collaboration with Ukrainian clusters will help the healthcare systems and industries align with the current state of the art, leaving also behind the prepandemic model of health industries. Catching up with EU and associated states’ health clusters will be instrumental for this consolidation of UA as a Single Market country.
