At the end the August 2020, the third and the last phase of the CEX-IMAG project has been completed, project financed by UEFISCDI through the National Plan for Research, Development and Innovation for the period 2015 – 2020 (PNCDI III).

The aim of the CEX-IMAG project to increase the excellence and applied scientific productivity of the IMAGO-MOL Cluster, by developing strategic RDI planning documents in order to ensure the continuity and increase the operational capacity of the IMAGO-MOL Cluster in a very important field for health – imaging , in correlation with the IT and biotechnologies field, was achieved by successfully organizing the three stages of implementation and obtaining the expected results.

Thus, the first stage for the implementation of the RDI Strategic Agenda of the IMAGO-MOL Cluster led to the following results: 1 IMAGO-MOL Working Group, 3 working sessions and 2 webinars, 1 report on areas of interest, sources and opportunities for innovation at IMAGO-MOL Cluster membership level, 1 Cluster2Cluster session within the Pharmapolis Cluster, Hungary, 1 IMAGO-MOL Cluster Strategic Agenda.

The second stage for the elaboration of the Implementation Plan related to the Strategic Agenda of the IMAGO-MOL Cluster – 2019 was completed with the following results: 1 Report on priority RDI topics, 1 market study, 1 catalog of RDI funding sources, 2 seminars project generation, 5 project sheets, 2 work sessions and 2 webinars, 1 C2C session carried out within the Canceropole Rhone Alpes Cluster, 1 ESCA silver label and 1 Implementation Plan related to the IMAGO – MOL Strategic Agenda.

The last stage of project implementation also led to the following results: 1 database with RDI products / technologies / services of members, 1 regional expansion campaign, 1 partnership agreement with a European medical cluster, 1 European RDI project submitted within the Horizon INNOSUP Program 2018 – 2020, 1 virtual scientific conference “Artificial intelligence: applications and implications for the benefit of personalized medicine”, 2 published scientific articles, 1 enlargement and internationalization strategy.

In terms of the impact of the results, the project led to:

  • increasing the capacity of innovation at the level of members, acquired by identifying common research topics, materialized in the realization of project sheets and applications in partnership, interdisciplinary: health, biotechnologies and IT&C;
  • development in partnership of strategic planning documents, by involving all key members in the field of RDI (university sector, research institutes, hospitals, SMEs in the medical field and IT&C) and by facilitating the process by the North-East Regional Development Agency , as a founding member;
  • promoting cluster members internally and externally by participating in C2C missions, matchmaking sessions and brokerage;
  • growing the ecosystem by attracting new members (from 27 members in 2018 to 40 members in August 2020);
  • increasing the visibility of the cluster both internally and externally.
