Inspirational discussions at the HealthTech Connect Festival, held on October 20 in the “Carmen Sylva” Hall of the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași, where the atmosphere was energized by dynamic dialogue, international perspectives, and ideas with the potential to transform the future of innovation in healthcare.
Together with Lucian Sandu (North-East Regional Development Agency), Stamatiki Kritas (Hellenic Biocluster / CEBR), Sauro Vicini (Clust-ER Health – Emilia-Romagna), Carmen Mihai (IMAGO-MOL Cluster), Alexandra Cernian, PhD, Habil. (University Politehnica of Bucharest), and Sabin Roșioru (Asti Automation), and moderated by Daniel Cosnița (CLUSTERO – Romanian Cluster Association), we explored key topics essential to the development of innovation ecosystems.
The discussions addressed the critical role of technology transfer and clusters in driving regional economic development, highlighting how universities, regions, and innovation structures support SMEs and startups on their path to market. The entrepreneurial perspective was also examined, focusing on founders’ expectations from a functional, results-oriented innovation ecosystem. In addition, the conversation explored the types of innovation that regions should support in order to ensure visible and sustainable benefits for the entire community.
During the panel, the InnoMedCatalyst project was highlighted as a best-practice example of collaboration between clusters—a European platform designed to support SMEs and startups in the fields of precision medicine and digital health. This initiative illustrates how transnational cooperation can unlock new opportunities and accelerate the development of a healthcare ecosystem oriented toward 5P medicine.
