The IASI – SMART HEALTH CITY project ran between 15th of June 2022 to 15h of August 2023 and has been co-financed from the European Social Fund (ESF) through the Administrative Capacity Operational Program (POCA) 2014 – 2020, MYSMIS CODE 151401, SIPOCA 981. The project has contributed to the increasing the capacity of non-governmental organizations and social partners in the city of Iasi to get involved in the formulation and development of the smart health concept as a vertical of the local smart city policy.

The value of the project was 423,272.50 lei, of which non-refundable financing 414,807.05 lei.

Through the project, the following results were achieved:

  • strengthening the role of NGOs and social partners to engage in the establishment, revision, and monitoring of local health policies, with a focus on the “smart health” field, through the Local Development Partnership by:
    • creating the Consultative Working Group (CWG) for the local health strategy, focusing on the Smart Health concept,
    • organizing five working meetings of the established group,
    • developing two project sheets included in the long list of projects for the Integrated Urban Development Strategy of Iași Municipality and the Metropolitan Area 2021-2030: an Integrated Platform for Interconnecting with Healthcare Service Providers in the Iași Municipality and a municipal PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
  • training 91 representatives from NGOs and social partners, along with 16 representatives of authorities and public institutions from the Iași municipality in three areas: “smart health,” “patient empowerment,” and the role of local communities in building local policies;
  • developing a set of interactive tools to engage local actors – public institutions, social partners, NGOs, and citizens – in the smart health domain, including:
    • 1 interactive platform – citizens.ro,
    • 1 digital catalog/report featuring organizational initiatives in healthcare digitalization,
    • collecting 15 citizen-driven initiatives in healthcare digitalization,
    • 1 “Iași Smart Health City” hackathon, attended by 80 participants, during which the teams developed project ideas addressing the needs identified by the project’s organizers and partners.
