The first workshop “Bridging the gap” within the BrainTwin project, funded by the Horizon 2020 program, Twining Action, took place online on April 21, 2021.
The main beneficiary of the project is the “Gheorghe Iasi” Technical University (TUIASI), together with the consortium partners: Steinbeis 2i GmbH, Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation, University of Salamanca and ZSI – Center for Social Innovation (Austria). The BrainTwin project supports networking and supports TUIASI in the development of a new research and education center by strengthening its scientific and technological capacity in the field of neuroengineering (with a focus on early detection of neurodegenerative diseases, robotic diagnostic and therapy procedures, e-tools for quality improvement patients’ lives).
The workshop aimed to present some examples of projects and initiatives that support technological transfer and innovation in the medical field both in Romania and in Europe. It also facilitated networking between the participants present.
Along with interventions from the academic research environment and that of local innovative companies (UMF “Grigore T. Popa” from Iasi – CEMEX, TUIASI, Sentic-Lab SRL), the IMAGO-MOL Cluster was invited and made a presentation on to its role of facilitator of the development of the regional digital health ecosystem.
