IMAGO-MOL is partner in the InnoMedCatalyst project (Catalysing the regional innovation capacity of the MEDICNEST Digital Precision Medicine ecosystem and beyond), funded through the I3-cap2b program.

The project consortium consists of 13 partners from 10 European regions across 8 countries (Romania, Spain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, Greece, Poland, and Portugal) and is coordinated by the North-East Regional Development Agency.

The InnoMedCatalyst project aims to enhance the regional innovation capacity of the precision and personalized medicine ecosystems across Europe, where startups, spinoffs, scaleups, innovators and healthcare providers will increase their capabilities to develop, test and refine digital health solutions as business cases, while concurrently preparing a series of interregional investment projects ready for further investment and exploitation by 2026.

The Specific Objectives of the InnoMedCatalyst project are to:

  • Map the regional value chains in 5P Digital Medicine, aiming to systematically visualize and analyse the entire ecosystem of current activities, processes and stakeholders involved in the development, deployment, and utilization of digital technologies and related business cases. This will result in the elaboration of 10 regional maps with main stakeholders, activities.
  • Enhance the regional innovation capacity by developing Cross regional Peer to Peer workshops, tailored training Programmes, twinnings between the regions, learn missions and specific actions to strengthen the innovation capacity dedicated to sharing knowledge, driving innovation, addressing both common challenges and customized needs in the up taking precision & personalized medicine in order to improve healthcare systems and ultimately patient health outcomes. This will be achieved by at least 25 different activities such as demo days, learning missions, twinnings, pitching sessions, host events.
  • Facilitate a vibrant innovation ecosystem by setting up a 5P digital medicine acceleration and mentorship programmes aiming to provide support and coaching to startups, spinoffs and entrepreneurs working on digital medicine solutions. This will result in at least 36 accelerated projects or companies.
  • Catalyse open innovation and boosting the development and implementation of digital health solutions using an Open Innovation Network Platform that will bridge the gap between MedTech companies and healthcare providers by facilitating test before invest of 5P medicine solutions. This will be achieved via 2 online B2B brokerages.
  • Create roadmaps towards a regional innovation ecosystem in 5P Digital Medicine to catalyse the development, integration, and adoption of advanced digital technologies in healthcare based on collaborative frameworks. This will result in 10 regional roadmaps and 1 interregional roadmap/white paper.
  • Develop a portfolio of interregional investment projects in precision medicine as a crucial tool for advancing the sector, promoting collaboration, and addressing complex healthcare challenges at an European and global scale. This will result in the generation of at least 20 interregional investment projects.
