Between 12-13 March, 2025, in Iași, the launch event of the Clusters4Health project took place, an initiative that unites European and Ukrainian clusters in the healthcare sector to stimulate innovation, collaboration and resilience in this sector.
On the second day of the event, the methodological workshop “Mapping the Ukrainian Value Chain”, led by Daniel Cosnita, President of the Romanian Clusters Association, played a crucial role in identifying dysfunctions in the healthcare value chain in Ukraine, affected by the war. With the support of partners, Rivne interregional medical cluster, RIVNE TACMED and Cluster “ProMedMan”, we defined a questionnaire that will be applied to 100 key actors in the Ukrainian healthcare system.
The participants visited the Medical Simulation Center, “Grigore T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy Iași, and the Firefighters Training Center in Iași, with the support of Prof. Dr. Diana Cimpoeșu, Head of the UPU-SMURD Section in Iași, and Ms. Medical Bioengineer Catalina Luca, Lecturer at UMF Iași, where technologies and good practices for emergency medical interventions were presented.
Clusters4Health is a project co-financed by the European Union through the COSME CLUSTERUA program, coordinated by the Imago-Mol Cluster and brings together partners from Romania, Italy, Spain, Poland, Norway and Ukraine, with the objective of supporting collaborative efforts between the European Union and Norway for the reconstruction of Ukraine by:
- Developing a common Europe-Ukraine Roadmap for a smart and resilient health ecosystem
- Facilitating the generation of collaborative projects through Ideathon workshops
- Creating a portfolio of joint projects
The Partnership “Clusters4Health” will develop a European Ukrainian Clusters Acceleration Lab, a powerful virtual collaboration hub aiming to drive cooperation and innovation between clusters and their members and to build clusters capacity in healthcare.
