On 8-11 April 2024, Mrs. Alina Căpitanu, Vice President of the IMAGO-MOL Cluster participated in a study visit organized by CLUSTERO – Romanian Cluster Association and Innovation Performance AS in Norway, as part of the project “Innovation Services for the Double Transition in SMEs and Clusters”, funded by the Norwegian Grants.
During the meetings, best practices, ideas and information were exchanged, common interests were identified to develop new Norwegian grants and to explore opportunities for short and long term collaboration between clusters from Romania, Ukraine and Norway.
Our alliance, the MEDIC NEST Meta-Cluster, was highlighted as a driver for future cooperation in the field of precision medicine. A highlight of the visit was a high-level meeting at the Oslo Cancer Cluster headquarters, where possibilities to develop collaborative projects in precision cancer medicine and a cluster partnership under the EU Ukraine Cluster Program were discussed with Ketil Widerberg, manager, Marine Jeanmougin and Dave Tippett.
The Oslo Cancer Cluster’s focus on accelerating the development of new cancer treatments aligns perfectly with our strategic goals at the IMAGO-MOL Cluster and the MEDIC NEST Meta-Cluster, whose first Joint Action Plan is dedicated to Precision Cancer Medicine. In addition, there was the opportunity to visit the Oslo Cancer Cluster Incubator, an organization specialized in stimulating innovation in cancer diagnostics and therapies.
The agenda of the event also included a fruitful discussion with Mr. Silviu Jipa, Minister Counsellor, Deputy Head of Mission at the Romanian Embassy in Norway, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the Norwegian and Romanian clusters.
